I have been making/buying nut milk for about 8 years now and I can honestly say that homemade nut milks are far superior in freshness, flavor, and you can customize to your heart's delight. I was super into almond milk but quickly became disheartened by all the pulp waste. Yes, I know I could have used it for something else, I tried and it wasn’t good and I didn’t have time to experiment further. Cut to 7 years later, I discovered the bliss of homemade cashew milk. Creamy, rich, naturally slightly sweet and a good source of magnesium, vitamin k, healthy fats, a bit a protein, AND increased serotonin production, the happiness hormone! One of the best parts is that the cashew milk doesn't need to be strained, thence no waste! This is how I make my nut milk...

-1 cup of organic raw cashews, soaked overnight (or at least for 4 hours)
-strain soaking water
-add soaked cashews into a Vitamix or blender with 7 cups filtered water (less if you want it thicker)
-pinch of Himalayan pink salt
-blend the hell of out it, maybe 5 to 10 minutes
I store mine is a 64-ounce mason jar and it keeps for about 4-6 days, but we always use it up before then.
I use my homemade cashew milk as a base for my morning potions, especially good with Wooden Spoon Herbs Golden Cocoa. But lately, I have been making this KILLER morning cacao drink...
-2 cups homemade cashew milk
-1 heaping tablespoon organic cacao powder (or two). I am loving Sun Potion raw cacao powder
-1 tbsp organic maple syrup
-1/4 tsp cinnamon
-pinch of Himalayan pink salt
-optional- add 1 teaspoon he shou wo or maca or any herbal powder you are into.
-heat slowly in a small saucepan with a whisk, or heat up the cashew milk on the side and then add everything to the blender to make it nice and frothy. Enjoy!
